I’m so excited to continue my astrology series today with information about the different rising signs. If you haven’t listened to my last episode or read my last blog post, which is more of an overview of how astrology deepens your self-love, I highly suggest you check it out.

In this episode, I’m talking about all things rising signs. No matter which rising sign you identify with, you’ll learn something about yourself that will help you better understand your magnetism in different facets of your life. So let’s dive in, shall we?

What’s a Rising Sign?

The first thing to understand is what a rising sign is and why it matters. This is your ascendant sign and it accounts for the first house of your birth chart. There are 12 houses total, and this rising sign sets the stage for how they all interact with each other.

Your ascendant sign or rising sign governs this first house and rules over all things having to do with your appearance, body, the way your body appears to others, your leadership skills, and the path you take to your purpose. In short, it’s the foundation of every house in your chart.

The rising sign presents a holistic view of your personality and defines how you approach relationships. It’s such an important part of who you are, which is why I wanted to explore it in depth in this post.

Rising Signs and Appearance Magnetism

The first thing I want to cover is how your rising sign affects your appearance. It has a lot of power over how you appear to others and how you present yourself to the world. Here are some sign examples and what their rising sign says about appearance:

• Aries – The Aries rising sign is ruled by Mars. This means that their appearance is more sexy and alluring. Rihanna exhibits this sign and is a prime example of this.
• Pisces – The Pisces sign is ruled by Neptune, which is a planet deep in the clouds with a dreamy aurora. It also has a glowy, youthful way to it and is more ethereal. Kourtney Kardashian has this rising sign.
• Cancer – This rising sign has a warm glow and appears to be a warm and inviting person. Many Cancers also display a curvy body – shout out to all my curvy ladies out there!

These are just a few examples of how rising signs dictate different aspects of your appearance and how you attract others in that part of your being.

Rising Signs and Personality Magnetism

Next, your rising sign affects your personality magnetism that helps you attract others. Here are some examples:

• Libra – Beyoncé and Britney Spears are both examples of a rising Libra. This sign is very gracious and pleasant and is known to be personally charming. This sign is ruled by Venus. 
• Capricorn – The rising sign of Capricorn is known for their dry humor paired with an unmatched work ethic. They’re not afraid of a challenge and they put all their focus on the task at hand.
• Scorpio – Scorpio rising signs are very magnetic in general, and their personality is more mysterious. People want to learn about them! They display fierce loyalty to their intuition and will check in with themselves and their intuition before anything else. 

As you can see, every rising sign’s personality features unique qualities that make them lovable and interesting to others.

Rising Signs and Leadership Magnetism

Every rising sign leads in their own unique way. You can learn more about the leadership magnetism of different signs here:

• Sagittarius – This sign is known to be friendly and open to the philosophies of others. They’re open to adjusting and altering their belief system, which is something that makes them a good leader. They think about the vision and don’t believe in limitations. The sky’s the limit for a Sagittarius rising sign!
• Aquarius – Uranus and Saturn both have a hand in ruling this sign. While Uranus provides disruption and rebellion, Saturn provides discipline and hardwork. These qualities come together to create a leader that exhibits forward-thinking and that is ahead of their time. They’re also leaders that are for the people.
• Virgo – Enthralled by details, Virgos are known to be fabulous leaders. They are all about details, plans, and executing to bring a vision to life. They’re organized and commonly regarded as perfectionists. Mercury rules over Virgos.

It takes all types to make the world go round, and there’s no better example of that than in the different qualities that these rising signs display.

Rising Signs and the Path to Your Purpose

Finally, I want to talk about how your rising sign points to the path you take to your purpose. While your sign doesn’t define your purpose, it does a good job alluding to it. Your rising sign helps steer you towards that ultimate goal.

Here are a few ways your rising sign does this:

• Leo – Many celebrities are Leos, because this sign loves recognition and visibility of some sort. This can be in the workplace, in your community – really anywhere. This recognition helps you on your path towards your purpose.
• Gemini – This sign has a playful aspect of their identity that is almost child-like, but in a positive way. They’re very positive and enjoy exploring different identities. They’re uniquely themselves, which helps them along the way to their purpose. Lady Gaga is an example of a Gemini who displays this trait perfectly.
• Taurus – Finally, the rising Taurus sign is one that’s concerned with security – particularly financial security. They’re not apologetic about liking a nice lifestyle and having money in the bank. They don’t try risky things – instead, they try something that’s tried and true to work and they stay loyal to it.

Your Rising Sign Helps Identify Your Gifts and Strengths: The Bottom Line

While astrology certainly doesn’t dictate your life, it does help you to identify your gifts and strengths. It’s a tool that helps you realize the path of least resistance along the path you want to follow and the goals you want to reach.
