In today’s post, I sat down with Cynthia Davidson to learn about all things related to emotion decoding. Cynthia Davidson is the Founder of Intuitive Essentials, providing empowering tools to help you heal your mind, body, and spirit while living with more flow and ease. Cynthia is a Certified Emotion Code Practitioner, Human Design Pathfinder, and Intuitive Guide.
One of the tools Cynthia specializes in is the decoding and release of trapped emotions to clear vital energetic real estate in support of your health and wellness journey. Cynthia and I met through a group coaching program. I recently met with her so we could work through my own emotion decoding, and wow, it is truly amazing.
In this post, we’ll explore what emotion decoding is, how to release trapped emotions, and how it all works to improve your energy & overall quality of life.
Emotion decoding helps individuals to release emotional baggage. The truth is that emotions can get trapped inside our bodies without us even knowing it. When this happens, it can cause emotional distortion. It can even cause physical ailments, which we’ll talk more about below.
Cynthia explained that emotions stuck in our bodies can be up to the size of two fists put together – isn’t that crazy? And once emotions begin getting trapped, you become a magnet for these same emotions to get trapped again and again.
You may be wondering where and how this phenomenon originated, and the story begins with the chiropractor who developed it. He noticed a lot of repeated ailments in his patients and then came to realize that they were caused by emotions that were trapped within the body.
This doctor used muscle testing as a way to get balance back in the body and release these emotions. And from this research & testing, the emotion code concept was born.
Everything has an energetic vibration or frequency associated with it, including emotions. When the vibration – or an emotion – gets trapped, it keeps attracting that same vibration. This results in good things that are trying to come into your life becoming blocked.
Think of this as the law of attraction. Say that you trap anger or fear and, in multiple instances, didn’t process these emotions when they originally occurred. That now results in these emotions becoming trapped.
You could also attain these trapped emotions through your ancestors. They can literally be passed down from one generation to the next. It’s actually scientifically proven that this energy is passed through generations, so it’s no wonder it’s inherited.
A collection of emotions that gather around your heart to protect it from traumatic experiences may exist. This is called your “heart wall.” Once you get rid of this, you’re so much more open to love and gratitude.
One thing to know about this heart wall is that it can be there for YEARS. We’re talking a LONG time. But the good news is that it’s totally possible to clear it. If you don’t, it could ultimately cause you to be closed off from relationships or to attract the wrong types of individuals in your life. For that reason, it’s so important to chip away at this wall.

The emotion decoding technique allows people to feel lighter, brighter, and freer without experiencing many of the negative effects that could come along with working through intense emotions or past traumas.
This isn’t something that replaces other therapies or modalities, but instead, it’s something that enhances those efforts. It can help you reach your goals in therapy more quickly.
The process of this starts with connecting to your subconscious to figure out when an emotion became trapped and what type of emotion it was.
There are several different emotion types to understand:
This process is all about energy healing, and it takes Cynthia 20 to 30 minutes if she’s connecting with a client over video. If she’s doing it remotely without video, it’s an even quicker process. She can help her clients release up to ten emotions in one sitting.
After that, there’s usually a one to two day processing window for the client to fully release these feelings. After that, the process can be repeated if desired.
Emotion decoding is very useful for those who have experienced trauma and likely have trapped feelings as a result of those experiences. Cynthia explained that sometimes releasing those trapped emotions can bring someone back to that traumatic time.
However, it’s important to note that Cynthia works to not open up any wounds and tells a client only what they want to know. This is a safe process that doesn’t force anyone to relive those moments unless they are fully ready to do so.
Cynthia asks questions that typically require only a yes or no response. She stays very surface-level and only goes deep if the client dictates that. That’s what makes this process pretty painless – you are 100% in control!
As painless as this process is, it’s still important to process the released emotions on your own time after experiencing emotion decoding. This process is not about bypassing our ability to eel into the darker stuff.
There are a few things Cynthia suggests to help process these emotions:
In short, you have to sit with emotions and reflect on them. Feel, process, and get through them. This will allow you to truly heal. The longer you take to process these emotions, the more likely they’ll get trapped again.
We can use emotion decoding to help recover from trauma and for other reasons in our lives. It can be used to help meet our goals or manifest our desires. We can use it to help us reach something we’ve been longing for in a way that prevents that thing from becoming blocked.
I hope this post has helped you realize that our subconscious is the computer that inputs the code, and fills in the fields. But – you need to process the emotions and do the work in order to feel your best and get where you want to go.
It’s inevitable that we trap emotions, but the more we can process and be available for ourselves, the better we’ll feel overall.
